ERIK FOGG

I graduated in 2009 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Political Science. Since then, I worked briefly with the United Nations and then moved on to Operations and Management Consulting. I was born in Florida, raised in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and have been living in and around Boston since 2005. Currently, I live in the South End with Ryan Mitchell on the fourth floor of a beautiful bow-front.

Current Work:

At Stroud, my clients have included Fortune 250 and Global 250 companies throughout North America. I travel weekly to the client's site to help senior clients solve massively valuable challenges thought impossible by the organization. My work currently takes me to northern Alberta in the oil sands. The work is incredible and yes, we are hiring.

Former work:

I've worked summers or full time for over ten years, in a fascinating variety of fields, including: landscaping, catering, farming, recreational boating, caddying, investing, academic research, industrial research, marketing research, software development, teaching English, global conflict resolution, fledging tech startups, and, of course, operations consulting.

The Future:

In the long-term, I intend to become involved in politics, though it's a bit unclear where and how.

Interests:

I spend a great deal of time brewing beer and mead under the Vulgar Unicorn Brewery, a homebrewer co-op I founded with partner Jim Waldrop. These occasionally do well in homebrewer contests; my best so far has likely been the "Gourd Lord" Pumpkin Ale, brewed with Jim.
I get involved with Live Action Roleplaying (LARPing), strategy games, and the Society for Creative Anachronism when I have time.
I recently acquired a 1979 Suzuki GS750L, which is in much better shape than I am despite having 9 years on me. I'm an armchair economist and political philospher, a civil libertarian, foreign policy blogger, amateur engineer and tinkerer, sometimes-poet, I cook whenever I can, sometimes experimentally

Travel:

United States:

26 states visited to date (plus Puerto Rico), largely missing the heartland, the big sky states, and the south. Currently working on fixing that.

Global:

So far, I've been to China, Japan, Canada (BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec), Ireland, the UK, Germany, Portugal. Russia as of August.

Airline Status:
Air Canada: Super Elite (105,000 miles in 2010, 101,000 miles as of July 20th, 2011)
US Airways: Gold (92 segments flown in 2010, mostly short-haul)
